Self-Compacting Cementitious Composites with Heavy Fuel Fly Ash Replacement

نویسندگان

چکیده

Sustainability in construction is related to the use of industrial by-products, such as fly ash (FA). FA varies chemical/mineralogical composition, depending on raw materials burnt during its production. While produced from coal-fired power stations extensively used cementitious composites, heavy oil firing fuels (e.g., mazut or diesel) remains largely unused. This paper focuses novel fuel (HFFA), a replacement Class F FA, high-volume self-compacting composites. Two different grain size distributions HFFA were quantities 5–15% w/w cement and for production The assessment physico-mechanical properties microstructure end-products at curing ages suggests that may be ?10% w/w, without any negative effects. In fact, quantity distribution HFFA, this even improve some long term, provided careful mix design adopted. findings show potential sustainable reuse are beneficial incorporation into codes.

Durability Performance of Self Compacting Concrete Incorporating Alccofine and Fly Ash

The cost associated with the application of large volume of cement and synthetic admixtures was one of the major drawbacks of Self Compacting Concrete (SCC), which can be reduced by the use of supplementary cementitious materials (SCM). When the demand of cement reduces, the release of carbon dioxide (CO2) from cement industries will come down, which has a positive impact on global w...

Bagasse ash and rice husk ash as cement replacement in self-compacting concrete

In studies conducted to determine the workability of concrete, the bagasse ash and rice husk ash were added as a partial replacement for cement. Trial mixes with the varying water cement ratio, replacement percentage, quantity of super plasticizer and viscosity modifying agent, were prepared and tested. The results were used as the basis for defining three optimum cement replacement mix proport...

Mechanical Properties of Concrete Composites with Replacement of Class C Fly Ash and Silicafume

The results of experimental investigations on the study of concrete with partial replacement of cement are presented in this paper. The concrete grade of M30 has been selected and designed as per Indian Standard method. The specimens based on control mix have been cast without fly ash and silica fume. Cement was replaced by 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% and 60% of fly ash by the weight. 20 % of s...

Prediction Compressive Strength of Self-Compacting Concrete Containing Fly Ash Using Fuzzy Logic Inference System

Self-compacting concrete (SCC) developed in Japan in the late 80s has enabled the construction industry to reduce demand on the resources, improve the work condition and also reduce the impact of environment by elimination of the need for compaction. Fuzzy logic (FL) approaches has recently been used to model some of the human activities in many areas of civil engineering applications. Especial...
